It's interesting, that Venus/vener thing. The genitive of venus is veneris (as in the mons veneris), so it probably is related. The other cool thing is that, because of Latin pronunciation, vener is also the root word for the English word 'win'. From love to the hunt back to love. It's all about conquest, baby.
