006 [Just FYI]

Oct 16, 2009 10:41

[You may or may not remember this post, but Robo did. And now, this morning, when Kaito went to go pick up his newspapers, he got some strange looks. Looks along the lines of "Kaito? Why are you back here already?"

Also, there's a reason no one has seen the robot since the brainwashing. It may or may not have something to do with the missing ( Read more... )

[Due to the fact that she's oblivious, she's only now noticing the odd noises in the garage. However now that she realizes that something is going on she's too curious not to go in]

Whatcha doing?

[He glances back at Harley from where he's... ... making some kind of giant gear out of scrap metal, using a welding torch. There are already over a hundred gears strewn around the garage, ranging in size from taller than he is to the size of a fingernail. He's been busy the past few weeks.

The idea of some kind of clockwork machine is beginning to take form in a corner.

A shrug as he turns back to his project.]

I require more data.

Data? So you don't know what you're building?

[He laughs]

No, no. This is going to let me get more data.

[The flash of irritation he felt when he went in for his paper route this morning and found out that said robot had already done it for him isn't going away easily. He can't quite shake the feeling that his other half is up to something, either, so instead of doing his paper route like normal, he decides to scope out his enemy's fort.

... the noises don't exactly ease his suspicions, either. He doesn't go inside, however, opting to hang back behind the fence. His hand is on his card gun too, just in case]

[He's been thinking it over for a while, and after realizing that he isn't Kuroba Kaito quite yet, he has decided he simply requires more data.

So he's doing his best to recreate a rather ominously familiar clockwork machine. Luckily for Kaito, he's making rather slow progress.]

[Luckily for Robo, the garage is closed (is it closed?) so he doesn't know this.

Yet]

[It was closed. But now it's not, because Robo has been locked in there for almost two weeks straight, and is now totally going to take a break to check his answering machine, and maybe get something to eat/take a nap.

Leaving the door open.]

[There is an Aoko lingering outside the premises -- across the street and beside a tree. There's a shopping bag in her hand. She watches the house for several moments with a mingling of hesitation and trepidation.]

[Oh look, there is a "Kaito" stepping outside of the garage for a moment. He stretches, yawns, runs a hand through his messier-than-usual hair.

He... really looks exactly like Kaito. Younger somehow, his expressions slightly less guarded, but still very much Kuroba Kaito.]

[Still. Considering the very fact that he does look unguarded, considering the fact that she believes she left Kaito back at the house, Aoko doesn't mistake him.]

[She debates calling out, saying something, just walking away . . . In the end she can't do any of these things, and even though her mouth parts, words fall flat on her tongue.]

[If he doesn't notice her . . . well, considering all that's happened and all that Kaito has said, it's just as well. She shouldn't be here.]

[She could most likely tell when he notices her, because he does notice her, his poker face sliding into place. Forced smile.]

Aoko! I haven't seen you in a while.
