It's funny how when you start working on one part of your business, it leads to a few other tasks opening up when you start breaking it down.

This whole marketing thing? Vast. Lots and lots of stuff to do. I'm sure dani_namaste & trixiefirecat know exactly what I'm talking about. I've been working with my marketing mentor to get myself up to snuff and launch my site in ( Read more... )

yay, yes, hack a wordpress theme! that's what i did [with the bf's help] and i love it. i recently started research calling and newsletter writing, and i still don't have much of a flow for either, but i think that's to be expected. i have been surprised by how easy & sometimes rewarding research calling is.

by the way, i just got to new york today. if you're around this week for coffee or something, let me know.

Oh hello! For some reason, I mentally placed the 19th as being Wednesday not yesterday. My days are all screwy this week. Nonetheless, want to have coffee or mid-day snack on Friday around 3pm? Let me know which part of the city you'd like to meet up and we can find a place.

About WordPress, I've been hacking the Sandbox super basic theme just to play around with it and see its capabilities. Now that I have my hands dirty, I'm going back to the drawing board this week to produce real Photoshop comps for the site itself. After that, I'll start laying out for real in WP. So exciting!

How have the research calls been going? Any leads just yet?

i am free on friday. i'm on the upper west side at the natural history museum, but can meet you pretty much anywhere.

research calls went pretty well. i had to take a break for some pressing deadlines, but i have 2 leads out of it that i'm following out. one of them, when i called, they literally said "yes, we are looking for a designer right now" which was very encouraging!

Thank you! That tremendously made me feel better. Little by little, I'm getting stuff done. I'm working on more designs for my site today so I can plug away at coding the whole weekend.

Congrats on all your great projects lately. I'm entirely envious of all great accomplishments the last few weeks. Oh, I want to try out your apple cinnamon biscuits.
