I'm so married...and yet so alone

Ok, I'm not REALLY alone - I have my hubby and my 2 kitties. However, I teach 40+ hours a week. I say 40+ because legally I'm supposed to have 1 hour of prep time every day, as required by the state of WI Department of Public Instruction, but due to the fact that I teach K-12 and have 10 minutes here, 10 minutes there, I'm not actually getting my ( Read more... )

I didn't want to say anything because I didn't think I'd have to justify who I did and didn't invite to my wedding. And I really don't think I should have to justify myself. But...my mother-in-law who has recently gotten divorced to my husband's dad and remarried another man decided that she was going to invite her new husband's whole family to the wedding (60 people), none of whom we really know, and she also has a big family, so her guests alone were more than my parents', mine and Matt's, and Matt's dads guests - combined. Yet, she wasn't willing to foot the bill to pay for these guests. We stood up to her, we did what we could, but in the end, it just wasn't worth it for us to lose her in our lives (other than things surrounding the wedding because of her seeing her ex husband, she really is a lovely woman). So Matt and I had to substantially cut down our list of people to invite. After much crying and heartache, the guest list was "narrowed down" to 300+ people (we have big familes and lots of "joint" friends from college ( ... )
