killed by an angel is such a good song, its sort of a pity that the rest of that album sucks. have you listened to "Diary" much yet? thats the classic...it blows my mind every time I listen to it. Also, do you like/have you heard of.... -Rites of Spring -Jawbreaker -Texas is the Reason -Fugazi -Mineral -Cap'n Jazz or -Braid?
Amazing stuff. Rites of Spring and Jawbreaker are, in my humble opinion, the best bands of the 80s and the 90s respectively.
If you're into cursive and bright eys, download Commander Venus...its this band that tim kasher and conor oberst, plus the bassist from the faint too boot were all in at one point or another. conor was 14 when most of their stuff was recorded "The Uneventful Vacation" is the only good record, but for conor's pre-teen voice alone...its awesome
omg fugazi -jizzes- yeah i love them... i've only heard 2 texas is the reason songs 'blue boy' and some other one... Jawbreaker and mineral are good too...i've got that commander venus stuff- i love pretty much all saddle-creek stuff, it's my favorite label. i haven't heard cap'n jazz or braid though i'll have to check them out
-Damien Rice (even though he's disturbingly becoming popular) -Aimee Mann -Simon and Garfunkle (Only Living Boy in New York is one of the most perfect songs ever) -Remy Zero (so sad that they're breaking up) -Five Iron Frenzy (ah, five iron...i have so much history with them, and even though they're quite off-beat, they just amaze me).
Cary Brothers is just great too...but I'm not planning on getting his cd anytime soon, seeing as how he's not signed yet. Ah, well.
