Question-- Does anybody know how to import video from a DVD onto the computer? I'm attempting to make a music video, and it would be pretty cool if I could have a movie on my iPod or something.
Not to be obnoxious, but that's what you have AV friends for :P.
You need a DVD ripper for importing video from DVDs to the compy, and iPODs take MP4. files.
If you're editing with Windows Movie Maker you'd prolly want the movie film to be in avi. format, because wmv. is technically best for windows but crappy for viewing.
So, you'd most likely rip into avi format, edit with whatever movie editing program you use, and then convert the finished product to mp4. (Via a video converter)
I have a DVD ripper program that rips into about every format known to man, and you can have that. You can also use it for ripping videos unedited straight to iPOD.
It's a zipped file, I could probably send it to you via AIM, or if you're willing to wait, on a CD after break?
Alice, not going to lie, I was hoping that you would reply to this post... I don't know anybody else whose more AV inclined than thee.
I would be delighted to be sent the program. I have a terrible internet connection that cuts out a lot, so if you were to send it over AIM it would take a long time. (It could definitely be done, but it would include a lot of re-sending and picking up where it last left off... that sort of thing.) If you could e-mail it..? (nora92890@yahoo.com) That would be nice. Or on a disk after break is fine. Whatever works for you.
You are amazing Alice, thank you so so so much. I've just wanted to try making a music video for awhile but obviously am not very technically inclined.
