One thing not many people know about me is one aspect of my immense geekieness includes a love for artificial life and intelligence. I used to make weak attempts at programming artificial life simulations in basic as a kid. I was one of the first kids stateside to get a Tamagotchi... I imported it.

So needless to say, I had to import this...

Hehe, aw. <3 You'd probably dig this thing. The screen backlight pulses slowly with blue light as the little ants do their thing. It's really relaxing. Right now, all I have is one queen who's been spending hours digging a big enough hole to lay eggs in. She's all aloooone and it's Winter in there too! It knows the date and time! If I could I'd hug her verrry carefully... with tiny digital arms.

I'm very strange I know. I also name little moths in my house sometime. I love moths. They're like like gothic butterflies. V^_^V (That's a happy moth, in case you can't tell!)

haha you're adorable <3 <3

And I never thought of moths as gothic butterflies before. That makes them so much cooler. Good thinking. hehe

Oh for sure, it is pretty simple but there's also a surprising level of detail. For example, I noticed the queen keeps moving the eggs around which, after looking it up, they really do to make sure they're warm. It knows it's Winter so I don't know if it affects that.

At the very least, it's fun and relaxing.

Play-Asia has the best price (~$80 with shipping) for Ant's Life Studio especially if you use a coupon code from RetailMeNot.com BUT when I tried to order from them, they were having problems with their supplier. I ordered from Himeya.com instead (~$99 with shipping) and their were no problems there.
