Friends Mostly

Dec 01, 2029 09:54

From this point forward, most entries of mine having any kind of substance will be friends-locked. It's something I've actually been doing subconsciously for a few months, and I suppose it's a good practice to keep.

I don't mind at all. Eh, I like reading about what goes on in others' lives, especially others with MS. It gives me hope. But my life is pretty boring at the moment. All this MS stuff is pretty new to me. Whee! But anyway, hello!

There is a MS support group that meets at a brew pub (gotta love that) Jt whitneys. They would be a great resource to get "the skinny" on which doc's are good and other resources for those with MS...

Hiyas. Thank you for introducing yourself and saying hello.

I haven't seen that website before, thank you for the link. It looks very interesting, and I'm going to spend some time "thumbing" through it and see if I can find the book at the library perhaps.

And I really had to laugh. Just last night, I was thinking about how badly I needed a massage, but I didn't know any therapists in Madison since I'd moved back. Then, you commented on my LJ. I find that very amusing. Where is your practice, and what are your rates?

I work out of Brad smith chiropractic on olin ave near the colliseum bar. The office number is 251-5959. My normal rates are 60 an hour, but I give out a fair number of half price coupons especially if the person has alot of pain issues and limited means.

I also have a corporate contract with promega corporation for both fitness training and massage.

have you seen the clair davies book on self massage of trigger points..?

anyway feel free to ask me any quesiton you like.

Thanks for the heads up on that. Poor girl. Did you tell her to contact me through PatientsLikeMe, or here? They retracted the diagnosis because she only has one lesion? That seems weird...there must have been some reason they gave her the dx in the first place, and that usually consists of evidence of activity separated by time and space, regardless of lesion number. Gah.

Contact through PatientsLikeMe. I'm not sure what is going on exactly. I think her diagnosis was about 15 years ago, that would have been just when Meds first came out...And then they updated the diagnosis criteria in 200? and again in 2005. MY speculation, just my speculation, they were very excited to finally have something to treat MS with, and the diagnosis definition wasn't as firm as it is now....that now they are going back to confirm old diagnosis on current criteria. There is another woman there, diagnosed 10 years ago, on copaxone since. Diagnosed based on a mother who had MS & the results of the Evoked Potential Test. That woman, different from the one I told to contact you, just had a neuro dispute her diagnosis & is redoing the tests....You know how lesions form, and then heal...I have no idea how a past diagnosis can be disputed then retested at a current time???when not relapsing ( ... )

I popped on over to PLM, found the post, and put in my $0.02. It seems weird to me that the dx was retracted, considering the criteria used for a diagnosis. If she's received a "legitimate" dx, there's no reason that it should have been retracted because she had "only 1" lesion. Poor girl.
