Fic

I was looking at my friends-of list, wondering if there was any point in posting something bandomy, and discovered that about ten bandom people have friended back my never-updated lj. So on the one hand, hi! Thanks! (Well, that goes to all friend-backers, even ones who are afraid of Pete Wentz. I'm afraid of Pete Wentz most days; I feel your pain ( Read more... )

This is really lovely. All the little details are great, and the mood is both everyday and magical. The characterisations are all good (the line "Ryan's seen Pete putting too much of himself into making a cup of tea" is so perfect) and I love the secret in the box.

Oh, thank you so much! That's... pretty much the perfect feedback, because it's everything I wanted to be in there, especially the mood. Thank you.

I still love it and the apple of secrets you don't know you have. and you posted! Yay!

eta: also, what do you think of Gepetto as a title?

I did post yay! It's entirely possible the world is crumbling around us. And thank you! I'm still a little a-blink at the apple's springing into existance in my mind when I got to that line.

Gepetto's actually strangely fitting, though I'm not sure this story'll end up with a name at all -- it feels like it can't take the weight, somehow. Possibly that's just me missing physics, though. (Come back, Mr. Newton! Chase the algebra away!)

I actually have no idea what "bandom" or who Pete Wentz is, but you mentioned raccoon, so I had to check it out. I found it charming and evocative, so I will tell you now that I am probably non-bandom and unknowing enough that mention of raccoons makes me unafraid enough to wade in (though I did move carefully).

As far as the seldom updates, I have no idea when the last time I came on to check lj was, so few and far between seems normal to me.... Oh yeah, I forgot I don't really know normal... Oh, well...

One last comment, hubby says "Hi". We were actually talking about you a while back when we were to make our first ever airline flight and I told him it probably wouldn't be a good idea for him to bring your "honorary status" letter LOL Well, off to bed, but knew there'd be no telling when I will return. Take care of the little bandit, and when they mass produce those, send one my way...

HI! I am so sorry for taking so long to answer this, especially since that makes it so much more difficult to convey how much glee it gave me to see this comment. (There was a *lot* of glee.) The lateness is a bit Not My Fault -- big midterm and restricted-access-computer (restricted as in, 'the roommate might discover I'm not only weird, I write stories about *raccoons*.) -- and a lot Yes My Fault, because as Kael might tell you, once I put something off, it doesn't matter whether or not I actually *want* to do it; it'll be put off indefinitely. For example, my one as-yet-unmailed Christmas card and one as-yet-unwritten one.

But aside from all that.

I actually have no idea what "bandom" or who Pete Wentz is, but you mentioned raccoon, so I had to check it out.

Choosing raccoons over Pete Wentz -- or, well, over anybody -- is probably the right move. Also, you can probably live fine without knowing either of those, but you should probably know that this and this is Ryan. Just because you guys may find it as funny as I do. (You may... )

I tried to answer this before, but the computer demons blocked me. We went to Las Vegas! It was a business trip, the World of Concrete convention was there and the company sent hubby and let me go along. We didn't get to do a lot of tourist type things, but it was an interesting trip.

I am glad indeed that a post brings glee, I know how getting busy keeps one from writing like they should , but we think of you often. Telling about the nap at the concert often gets a chuckle, even Rogue remembers you from that

If the roommate thinks one weird for associating with raccoons, the roommate has obviously never met one. They are much better company than a good many humans, and usually more honest. Maybe someday everyone can have the privilege...

Off to bed, to sleep, perchance to dream...
