Okay, I know this is an Israeli show and nobody cares, but my happy P&P modern adaptation has done a 180 and gone to making me so. Frigging. Sad. And I have to rant.

Why would anyone make a P&P-related anything and suddenly decide the point -- even a tiny part of the point -- is giving the heroine a makeover? Why, when your teenaged daughter ( Read more... )

No one cares? AHEM.

Yeah, the last episode was veeeeeeery troubling. The lesbian comment, I did not approve, nor of the way the show treated Neta, with Alona bossing her around all the time and freely calling her zona. Wtf.

Basically, I will be very disappointed if this show ends with the big double wedding Mrs. Bennet is dreaming of. I would love, love, love for this show to have all been a critique of the whole marriage hoopla; I can't say I actually expect that to happen, but I'm really rooting for it. And still, I'm enjoying the visuals and the music and the general atmosphere and shout outs to P&P -- the long strolls outside, the countryside, even the style of dresses they wore in the last episode. And Guri Alfi cracked me up.

To make you feel better -- okay, I dunno if it'll make you feel better, but it made ME feel better: AI RP-NOT-F FTW:

Kris interviews Adam
Adam interviews Kris
MAN CRUSH(they really should stop talking about it, but it's just too cute for words)

ALSO HEY, apparently we can stream NBC here, wtf?

Yes, but I assume you already know. *g* I absolutely agree about the atmosphere and shout outs (I need to pay more attention to the music), I love most of the actors, I even still love some of the characters. But yeah, I'm really not sure they can redeem themselves in two episodes -- or rather they could, but I don't think they want to.

On the other hand, while I have seen the first two interviews, which were Delightful, I hadn't seen the third one, which is even more so. Seriously, beyond fandom and slash and everything, this is just so neat -- that they have zero issues joking like this on TV, and it's not 'Ha ha yer so gay', that they're obviously just comfortable. It makes me want to find AI friendship fic that much more. I know, I'm preverse.

UGH I KNOW SO CUTE. I WILL MAKE IT MY MISSION TO FIND GOOD FRIENDSHIP FIC FOR YOU.

Also I am toying with an AU that I will 99% not write with Adam on Gilboan Idol -- as you know (I think?) -- and while it was going to be shameless Adam/Jack, I will now definitely include a smidgen of bromance in my hypothetical fic. Because the bromance so deserves a mention.

I ACCEPT THIS PLEDGE. GO FORTH AS MY CHAMPION AND WIN THE BATTLE, YOUNG PADAWAN. Maybe this is mixing one genre too far.

The bromance must find its voice! Kris could be standing in the backround with David making snarky-affectionate comments! Or trying to and then caving in the face of David's confusion, if I understand things right. But still.

Also, are you saying Jack enters the Idol contest, because from what very little I know of him, that is awesome. (Or is it that the royal house is very involved/gives the award? Michelle is a fan? Adam wears a giant butterfly custume for one song and Silas adopts him as a mascot? David helps Kris with his lyrics, or rather tries but Kris has to politely turn him down since his stuff is too racy?)
