Dear Purimgifts author,
Hello and thank you! I love Purimgifts, and I'll love whatever you write for me. That's the only really important note here, anything else is just in case you feel like it/are looking for ideas. This is a very rambly letter, but that's not because I have strong opinions about anything, it's because rambling is what I do.
1) If you ARE looking for ideas, the easiest one is: I love crossovers and I love fusions. My favorite kind of crossover is where we come in on the story already in progress - i.e, instead of 'x and y run into each other and learn each other's backstory/have initial impressions' the story is 'x and y have met an hour ago and are in the middle of some kind of mission together/met two weeks ago and run into each other again/have known each other for twenty years and are now getting ice cream'.
Although my dream story here would involve a future where Brad Colbert and Kami Glass are BFF, all of the fandoms I requested are small to tiny, and you're probably not into more than one of them. If you feel like writing a crossover, feel free to use any fandom I've ever written for or bookmarked a story from (using my page on AO3). If all else fails, I probably have a working knowledge of most past big fandoms on the Western media side, and the only one I'd actively prefer NOT to get is BBC Sherlock.
2) I also love Aus! Strangely I have less to say about that one. (An AU where Brad Colbert and Kami Glass are BFF cops! Yes, all right, I'll stop, I realize you probably have no idea who either of these people are.)
3) Surprisingly after all of this, I also love regular stories where people are just hanging out, or saving the world because it's Tuesday, or trying to deal with bullshit orders from higher-ups, or trying to deal with the fact that all the people they love are absolute weirdos. (That last one applies, as far as I can tell, to every single character you may choose to write in any of the fandoms I requested. Except Sadie Doyle, who never has to try to deal with anything.)
Specific fandom notes:
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: I'd prefer the focus to be on the female characters on the show (Amy, Rosa, Gina, or hey, maybe Sharon). I love everyone on the squad, but Jake is the least interesting one to me. That's only as far as the main focus, though - I'm perfectly fine with him, and anyone else from the squad, being in the stories. (Especially Terry.)
I love all the friendships in the show, but my only ships on it are femslash (in any combination). Well, that and Jake/Amy/Rosa. Why can't I ever ship the things anyone actually writes?
Generation Kill: As far as I can remember, Brad is the only character who qualifies for Purimgifts, which is great because I love him. Other things I love: Ray Person, Ray and Brad, Ray/Brad. More things I love: everyone on this damned show.
…This doesn't actually mean you have to include Ray, it mostly means I have to shout my love from the rooftops sometimes. Write me three things about Brad shooting the shit with Nate and Pappy and I'll love you forever. Maybe don't write me three things about Brad and Trombley. But do if that's where your heart leads you. (I'll still love you forever.)
Sports Night: Oh, this show. I love how funny it is, of course, but more than that I adore the relationships and warmth it had. I ship Dan/Casey, if you want to go that road, but I'd also love Dana as the main focus, and Dana interacting with Dan (and possibly Casey), and Dana and/or Dan interacting with just about anybody on the show.
From the possible Purimgifts-appropriate characters, I'd prefer a focus on Dana, Dan or Kim, rather than on Natalie and/or Jeremy. I don't dislike either character, though, and would be perfectly happy with them being in the stories.
The Lynburn Legacy: I'd love a look at the future for this series, a few (or many) years later. But I'd love anything, really - a past story or missing scenes or just someone else's view. Kami is my favorite character in the books, but I love Angela and Holly (and Angela/Holly) too, and any of them would delight me as a main focus. And while Rusty and Jared and Ash aren't Purimgift-appropriate for main focus, I adore them too and would love to see any of them show up.
My heart is 100% with the kid generation for this series, but all the adults are interesting and nuanced characters; if you'd rather focus on them, that would be interesting too! Really, anything about these books would delight me. That includes Kami's grandmother, in the far or near past; for one thing, a look at the Glass family before Kami's grandmother died would be amazing.
The Thrilling Adventure Hour: Anything. Really just anything. I love the Mars universe best, and Red's relationships with the two idiots she's been saddled with is my favorite (romantic or otherwise - I'm OT3 in both shipping and friendshipping with these guys), but every single option I can think of is delightful. Pemily Stallwark! Sadie Doyle! The Barkeep and the Troubleshooter! Donna Henderson! Amelia Earheart, Fearless Fliiiiiiiiiiiier! Anything.
I'd also love love love any in-show crossovers between the different universes - say, with Sadie/both Doyles appearing on Mars, or the Mars crew showing up in the Beyond Belief universe. (Or maybe an AU where the Doyles live on Mars in the future, although that thought makes my head hurt. In an awesome way.) Or Amelia Earheart showing up just about anywhere. I'm less interested in anyone meeting Colonel Tick-Tock/Captain Laserbeam/Jefferson Reed, but, say, Pemily Stallwark teaming up with Phillip Phantom would make my day.
This letter is 1,032 words for an exchange where the minimum word count for all the fills together is 900. I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. But you only had to read about half, so yay?
