[Jayne is just... staring in disbelief, his Machop peering over his shoulder curiously. Cooking is a necessary life skill. He simply can't believe it when people fail so badly at it. Seriously a bit of common sense goes a long way when it comes to making food]

Yanno, if you scramble the eggs in a bowl first, and set the warmer to a low power setting, they cook up just fine.

Or you could, yanno, cook 'em over a stove like a normal person.

...low power setting? [He glances over the microwave buttons, brows furrowing. Then he sighs]

I think I'm better off leaving the cooking to Francis. I'm...still not too familiar with the technology around here.

[Facepalm] That don't do ya much good when he ain't around, now do it? And for the record, a stove is much easier to work than that thing. All you do is turn the knob, and you got fire. Take pan. Crack eggs in pan. Poke at 'em until yellow 'n brown. Wallah. Breakfast.

I'll try that next time. [He frowns at the microwave] I'd heard that microwaves were able to cook things...is there a reason it doesn't work for eggs?

[Lightning herself is a horrible cook, barely managing not to burn water. But this? This is...a bit much. Exploding eggs.]

You'd be better off cooking those in a skillet next time.

I don't understand...I thought microwaves were supposed to cook things?

[Suddenly, he brightens and swaps his perplexed look for a decidedly more cheerful one] Oh, I heard it was your birthday. Happy Birthday!

They do, but the food has to be prepared a certain way first. Eggs are easier to cook over a stove top

[Have a tiny smile. Ven must have told some people during those plans of his...] Thanks.

So eggs work better over a stove top. Got it.

...on second thought, it might be better if I don't try cooking again.

I've pretty much given up on sleeping normally.

[Wilts] ...Sorry. I didn't think the eggs would...explode.

Didn't have any back home, so I wouldn't know. [He surveys the mess] I was told the microwave could cook things, so I thought...I'd give it a try.

... well, egg-based fireworks. I can't think of a more creative way to use a microwave.

[A little wryly. He just woke up to something that sounds suspiciously like loud explosions -- maybe they're in the same hotel? Whatever the case, despite the hour, Fuji looks exceptionally cheerful as per usual.]

An eventful start to the day, I guess. Hope that didn't wake you.

I can't think of anything more invigorating, really. [He waves his hand to show that no harm's done.] But resorting to take-out? Those must be some hard times.

Francis needs his rest. And I'd rather not damage the hotel room any more than I already have, else Arthur would pitch a fit.
