How to fill the time?

I'm working from home today. Today is T-3 days until C-section is scheduled. Now I haven't forgotten that Snuffy could turn at the last minute and that would change everything, but I am being realistic and not expecting this. Snuffy has been in the same basic location for over 6 weeks now - and I don't think he/she has any intention of moving. ( Read more... )

I'm not sure how you are at journaling, but I'd suggest writing down some thoughts for baby pre-birth, if that doesn't make you superstitious (as it did me).

Research breastfeeding - check out the lj site on my userpage. While it is somewhat fanatical there is also great advice there.

I assume you have call sheets done :-)

Write down for Mike all the things you will need by the couch while you are recovering. You only want to take those stairs twice a day! Include a constantly full glass of water, lanolin, breastpads, moisturizer, lip stuff, diapers, burp clothes, breastpump (if you're planning on using one), phone, clicker. The first 2 weeks should be nothing but breastfeeding, sleeping, and diaper changes. For both of you :-)

Sounds good.

I'm not sure about writing things down beforehand... We did find a baby book, but I'm hesitant to start filling it out in advance. It must be the superstitious part of me coming through. I do have a list of people for Mike to call - and then the list of emails is all online for the web announcement through the hospital.

Good idea to plan for what might need to make it downstairs - although if my in-laws are going to invade, since the diaper changing station is upstairs, and there's a TV in the bedroom, maybe I'll just plan to hide out upstairs!!

I highly suggest making a changing station downstairs as well. We had one on the dining room table for a few weeks at least!
