Longing & Panic

For those of you who don't know, the house I grew up in could probably be considered in the middle of nowhere. We had neighbors who's houses you could see from the front yard, but the backyard opened up onto a powerline road. Campsites offer comraderie, not privacy. We all need time & space alone: it’s a human need.

We live in a society that holds no consequences for the selfish, the obnoxious, or the idiotic (re: your neighbours). If you video-taped evidence you could show your neighbours illegal activity and your police department’s lack of responsibility. Send the results to the media, or post them yourself. You might earn some peace.

You must insist on taking time for yourself. Have hubby take the children to some of the family things (or when there are no family things) and go have some time alone, either at home or out. Even running errands on your own is liberating, but try to have more fun that that! And I really would ask hubby to take the kids rather than your parents, so you don't feel like you are imposing on them more.
