The sun was blazing hot like needles piercing through her clothes. Tiffany was on her way home from work.
She had a date at 5 in the late afternoon with her boyfriend, Nichkhun.
She couldn’t afford to be late.
Tiffany was pondering whether she should go by the ‘Short - shortcut’.
Ever since she was a child her parents told her loads of stories ranging from fairytales to even ghost stories.
She grew curious overtime, attempting to explore the forest again and again but always failing miserably.
The creepy stories always got the best of her, haunting her.
Unfortunately, this time she did not have much of a choice.
She reluctantly walked into the path infront of her,
it was in the afternoon but it seemed like it was already 6.30 in the evening.
She took a deep breath, feeling a lump growing in her throat,
taking tiny slow steps when she got deeper into the forest .
She started initially, crawling on all fours and eventually running for her dear life.
Running as fast as her limbs could bring her.
Seeing nothing but trees and more trees surrounding her,
closing her eyes at times when she was really trembling to much.
Trying extremely hard to calm herself down at times.
“Help!” a voice shrieked.
The brunette’s face turned pale and her skin felt cold and clammy.
Perspiration started dripping down from her forehead to her cheeks.
Tiffany stood there, legs rooted to the ground unable to comprehend what she had just heard.
“Help, please. Anyone. Please!!” there was that voice again that piercing cry for help.
Tiffany gasped, “What!?”
Tiffany reluctantly turned her head to the direction of the sound.
She took a deep breath and walked towards it.
As she got closer to the source of that cry she saw something/someone alluring and angelic.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
There was a blonde girl no older then her, struggling in the river.
She was basically clinging onto a thin, brittle, floating branch for her dear life.
The frightened girl had warm tears flowing down her cheeks.
Without further thought Tiffany ran towards the blonde girl.
The blonde looked at the brunette with hopeful eyes.
Tiffany stood there in awe, the warm brown orbs infront of her mesmerized her.
She Came to senses only after a few moments.
She reached out to the blonde before her but failed miserably.
The blonde was too far out in the rapid river.
Tiffany stared into the river, her bones were jittering and her heart leapt to her throat.
“This must be a nightmare.” She said between breaths.
Going into the water was what she feared and dreaded most throughout her life.
-Flash back-
After almost drowning when she was seven.
She lost her best friend TaeYeon because the smaller sized girl tried to save her.
Taeyeon jumped into the river trying to swim towards Tiffany,
that small sized girl wasn't really much of a swimmer.
Tiffany was clinging onto a branch that was really far out.
"Tiffany! TIFFAAANYY! FANYYY!!
Taeyeon lost her stength and eventually got washed away by the currents.
"TAEYEON! TAEYEON! TAE TAE!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Everything turned black after she said that sentence, she loosen the grip on the branch as-well.
She woke up with a blonde girl untop of her, she saved by that girl but she didn’t know who that girl was.
The girl looked young but she only saw her face briefly.
The next thing she remembered was that she was in a hospital bed.
Her parents were looking at her with worried eyes.
-End of flashback-
Fear gripped the brunette and she dared not move.
“Please, please.” The blonde pleaded she was close to tears.
“I can’t.” Tiffany’s voice was quivering.
The brunette felt goose pimples all over her well proportioned body.
“You can, I know you can. Please you’re my only hope.” The blonde was pleading desperately.
Tiffany tried shrugging off the feeling she had.
“I need to do this. I have to save that girl. I can’t leave her alone.”
She mumbled under her breath .
Without hesitating further she jumped into the water.
She was struggling at first as she haven’t swam in ages.
After awhile she started getting a hang of it,
she swam towards the blonde gripping her body and paddled back to the river bank.
Tiffany plopped her body onto the floor, her chest was heaving up and down.
The blonde was just beside her doing the exact same thing.
“Thank you, you’re my hero.” the blonde whispered, her cheeks turning baby pink.
‘It’s my pleasure. I should be the one thanking you.” Tiffany was beaming.
“Huh?” The blonde gave her a ‘What-are-you-trying-to-say’ look.
“You helped me conquer one of my greatest fears in life.” Tiffany smiled till it reached her eyes.
“You’re beautiful.”
The blonde whispered to herself but it was still clear enough for tiffany to hear it.
They stared into each others eyes, both mesmerized with the other party’s beauty.
Everything happened really fast.
The next thing they knew was that there was no gap between them and their lips were together.
Tiffany was melting under the blonde’s touch.
She was actually enjoying the blonde’s warmth.
They eventually deepened their kiss.
After 'Who-Knows-How-long',
Tiffany came to her senses, she abruptly shoved the blonde aside.
“What was that about?!” She exclaimed.
“I was thanking you. Was it that bad?” The blonde said pouting.
“Er….. What’s your name?” Tiffany was freaking out.
“You’re the most intriguing person I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m Jessica.”
Jessica said in a soothing voice.
Tiffany got up.
“Sorry Jessica, i have to go. I’m Tiffany. Er… Bye.”
Tiffany dashed off without another word.
Jessica sat there dumbfounded.
She held onto her chest. "I think I’m in love.”
Her heart wouldn’t stop thumping.
