Why are there so many "Best of the Decade" stuff going on when the decade doesnt end until Dec 31, 2010?

I thought that too, but then I realized that 2010 is the beginning of a new decade. 2000-2009 is 10 years.

2000-2009 is ten years, but this decade and the 21st century did not begin until Jan 1 2001.

idk. I don't think that's right though. 1999 was the end of the 20th century. I shall google it! Haha

In history, is there a year zero? I can't remember if they do year 0 for birth year of Christ/Roman calendar. You wouldn't have year 1 and refer to prior year as 1 B.C., would you? In that respect, 0-9 is a decade.

I'd rather think of it as an end of the decade.
