This is posted in one of my email groups, they got it off of Babycenter.com, I feel so sorry for this poor little kid! She should have NEVER had children

Ugh what a horrible person. I could never listen to my baby cry and leave them. Ugh! No wonder her child sleeps so much, theres no point to be awake with her as a mother.
I know her infant is probably depressed or something, that is a very sad way to be with a baby. I dont know how any mother can sit and listen to her child cry. I even find myself rushing to other peoples babies when they are crying.
Im iffy on the whole sleeping with parents issue ONLY because I slept with my grandmother when I was little, and I remember being absolutely TERRIFIED to sleep alone when it came time to have my own room and sleep in my own bed. I wasnt able to go a full night alone in my room until I was 13 or 14, and even then it was difficult.
In fact, I still fnd it difficult sleeping alone. When Im by myself, I have to have some source of light on (either the TV, computer or a lamp), or I just cant drift off to sleep.
Not to preach or anything, but just be careful. From experience, its not always a good thing to let your kids sleep with you on a regular basis.
Well Matthew has slept in my bed, it made it much easier to feed him throughout the night, and he is in his own bed now and he does just fine. In fact I try and get him to come to bed with me, and he asks to go into his own bed now.
I think it just really depends on the child, I dont believe in spoiling a baby. I am not so much upset that she is against co sleeping as the fact that she lets her baby cry, and it spends soo much time by itself, the baby needs interaction and affection.
I bounced from bed to bed from my mom or my grandma and was soo thrilled to eventually get my own room. Now on the nights because I have had David sleeping with me for nearly 5 years I have a hard time falling asleep because I dont hear him snoring, lol.
You know what though I really didnt want to have him in bed with me, but I did it because that was the only way I could sleep, so you may end up changing your mind when you have kids to save your sanity.
And I want to meet your big man too, lol, and of course show off my little one, lol.
im iffy about it too. my parents listened to my sister everytime she cried or made a peep, & gave her her attention and never left her alone. and at 24 she had major dependency issues. & my mom always blames herself for babying her too long
Well I pick up Matthew EVERY time he cries, although now I do ignore him if he is having a tantrum for a silly reason. But he is the most happy and independent little guy. I think that this womans child is going to have a lot of issues growin up because it hasnt been given the opportunity to develop a trusting bond. Going back to all of my child development classes the first stage of life is trust vs. mistrust. The only form of communication a baby has is crying so basically when you ignore it, its like ignoring someone speaking to you.
Some dont agree with my methods of child rearing, and that is fine, but he has really thrived. What works for him, isnt going to work for every child. Who knows our next one may be completely different.
There's a difference between letting them cry when they're having a tantrum and letting them cry when there's really something wrong. This woman you posted about sounds like she neglects her kid on a regular basis. It's good for a child to spend some time alone, but they need to have regular attention from their parents as well. 25 minutes of playtime with Mom before the evening is NOT enough attention for a 4-month-old infant.
Todd and I may not be the perfect parents, and we might ignore our children when they're throwing a temper tantrum, but we do take care of them if there's something wrong or they need someone to play with for a little while. Now that they play with each other, they don't really rely on Todd and me so much anymore, but when they were still little infants, we did what we could without spoiling them.
See I also think its a lot different when you have 2 children, because your family has a completely different dynamic. She really is neglecting her child, and its sad because she really sounds like she thinks she is a good parent.
25 minutes the whole day??? damn!!!!! that is nuts. I am nowhere near a perfect parent but shes home with that baby and ignores it... that is horrible. And a 4 month old isn't old enough to be a brat... ugh that makes me sick
you and I agree on somethings and not so much on others but neither of us would ever let our kid scream or be ignored... heck I don't think I ever left my kid while she was awake in her crib for me to take a shower.. I only did that when she was sleeping or someone else was around.
they grow up way too fast (Ms. Wiggly Tooth) and you can't get back the time you missed...
Yup it is insane. While we dont agree on everything parenting wise, I still think you are a good mother. That lady makes C & N look like mom and dad of the year!
