Writer's Block: My Dream Job

Ideally, I'd like to become a successful novelist. I love the idea of stringing words together and crafting a story that has not yet been told. I'd also be interested in working on screenplays, but it is not my ultimate goal. I don't know if I will even achieve it in the first place, due in part to the vast amount of money it takes to get started ( Read more... )

Yay! That sounds great. Don't let anything put you off. I had some bad luck recently, but it meant I was able to enroll in a scriptwriting course, which starts next week. *is excited*

There are opportunities if you look hard enough. I get a newsletter from the bbc that lets me know of schemes and competitions to help new writers get their big break.

Nothing is impossible.

Let me just be a total ass here, for a moment.

This is, say, the 30th lj I've come across that answered "writer"/"novelist"/"author" to the Dream Job Writer's Block question. This is probably the tenth lj I've found that includes FANFIC, a genre I despise.

If you want to be a writer, you have to create something original. No matter how far you stretch it, FANFIC is still working with another's foundation. Literary theft.

tiff, honestly your my bestie and i know that you can do whatever you put your mind to. if you wanna be a writer then by god be a writer cause you would be a damn good one. don't let anyone put you down (talking about you chloeish) you have your dreams and nothing or no one should come in between what you really wanna do =]
