Finishing up the move to our parents basement. Insanely tired. We have way too much stuff. Too unfreaking believable much of it is really fragile tea sets and extremely thin glassed decoratives. Reminds me how much easier it was to move while being male

Yep. Gonna try and buy a house in Lubbock at the end of the summer. Pretty scary in this economy. Will be nice to build up a margin again (which we will probably blow on down payments and stuff anyway... but, well, we will build it back up, hopefully).

I think I missed something too. When/why did you move to Texas? (Unless there's a Lubbock, Kansas I've never heard of...)

Sorry, I think I should have made a more formal announcement. I've just been a bit of an emotional mess the last few weeks and been really prickly and anti-social. It's a happy time but all I've been doing lately is fighting and feeling depressed.

I've been feeling like if I make the announcement to everyone, then everyone will pay attention to me, and I really don't want any attention. I just want to slink by unnoticed. On the other hand, I really should make an announcement, so I just half-assed backed into it with this post knowing that very few people read livejournal anymore and the grapevine is a lot gentler and softer than f@ceb00k and g+.

In any event: Hilmi will start her residency in Texas Tech U. in family medicine. I will be leaving my research work to join her. I haven't lined anything up there yet, but her pay will be a little bit more than what I make here anyway and Lubbock has a far lower cost of living than here (by ~25%!).
