"Fasle Labor" Cross posted from lochlans blog..... Last night at a little bit before midnight I started having contractions. They hit me like a ton of bricks, I was not expecting it and they came every 5-7 minutes and seemed to last several minutes. I agonized through the first few with the pain mostly radiating in my back and I wondered if I could do it. I expected them to creep up on me....... I managed to figure out what positions felt the best and it happened to be hands and knees. I listened to my birth affirmations cd and then my Mazzy Star cd and just let Nick sleep. At some point he woke up and I told him I was in labor and to go back to sleep because the contractions were about 10 minutes apart. I ended up drifting off to sleep in between and then eventually drifted off at about 6am. Its now 7:45 and my contractions are gone. I feel depressed because I thought for SURE I would be seeing my baby today. After all that work last night to have them just dissapear is extremely frustrating. I'm very sore and tired and I'm hoping that this is just a minimal break and that they will start back up. I want to take a walk. I might call my folks and have them come back early. They are staying at a hotel and were planning to come over at about 10 for breakfast. I'm certainly glad I didn't bother them in the middle of the night.
Its been great to have my folks here. We go sooo many beautiful gifts from the family and having mom and dad around rubbing my feet all the time (dad loves to rub feet!) is amazing! Mom is making yummy food and pampering me. Its just so comforting to have her around. Yesterday I had some swelling that would not go away. I drank about 10-12 25oz bottles of water and had my feet up all day and I still looked like a balloon.
