I just went upstairs to see my parents and my mom said she saw a black bear right beside my brother's car! Yes you read right, a black bear, in the city right near my house!!! I thought she was joking but apparently the bear has been roaming around the city since 3am this morning :O My mom called the police cuz she wasn't sure who to call and ( Read more... )

All I can say is... Black Bear.. Holy Crap!! Why would your mom follow it, it so could have turn on her. Was she in her van, I hope that she wasn't on foot.

I don't know why my mom followed the bear, she was in her van and I guess when she called 911 she told the operator that she'd follow him for a bit just to give the police or whoever they were gonna send a better idea of where it was. I told her she was nuts but I guess she was trying to be helpful. After awhile she lost it cuz it got spooked or something but yeah we had our own little bear this morning :P

You know you're in Canada when there's a bear in your backyard :P

I think you did the right thing, bringing the kids to the principal office. They might not like you but at least now they know they cannot do anything in your class which is good.

I didn't think a bear would come into the city, it's a pretty far walk from where it came from :P The conservation officers found it sleeping in a tree so they trapped it and brought him back home.

I know I did the right thing with the kids, it needed to be done but I have a feeling one of the boys will give me a rougher time now cuz that's the way he is.

I can't say I've ever had a bear in my front yard!

I agree with Carorules, you may not have made any friends but now they should know they can't get away with crap.

my mom thought it was a big dog at first, then she realized it was a bear walking around :P I kinda wish I had seen it, that would have been a sight...considering I've never seen a real bear before
