After one or two weeks of considering - below are the goals for 2016 :-)
1. Run a PR. Any distance.
Let's just say it stays on the list for a reason :-)
2. More regular daily activity.
Putting on the Fitbit in late 2015 really opened my eyes to how little I move during the day. On days where I run, I have no problem hitting the targeted 10,000 steps - but days where I don't run, including the twice daily doggie walks, I struggle. When living in Alaska, I had a work walking group that was out there in the park, every day, no matter the weather - and I can reasonably implement that here. All I need is to bring an appropriate pair of shoes to the office and block my calendar for 30 minutes so I can do a lap around the CDC campus. Now, it is just the doing of it.
3. Increased work networking.
I have plenty of people outside my Division at work that I need to do a better job of checking in with on a regular basis. Friends, previous colleagues, etc. I telework usually one day a week, so can accommodate lunch with people located on other campuses. The goal is one networking lunch a month, with no repeats.
4. Maintain my gains in Yoga.
Repurchase the yearly pass, and renewed effort to get to 2 classes a week. Rinse, wash, repeat.
5. Declutter.
cynic51 had something similar to this in his 2016 goals - to declutter. On a quarterly basis, I will be attacking my closet, my books, my files, etc. - to purge what needs to be purged and find appropriate storage for what needs longer-term maintenance. Has high probability for occurring, since it will make ES happy, too!
6. Successfully plan a wedding without losing my mind or keeping site of what makes us happy as a couple.
ES and I are well on our way on this one - we decided on the things that were important to us, and the things that aren't. Now, it's just sticking to our guns and enjoying the process :-)
That's probably ambitious enough for 2016. There's a lot going on, after all, most of it AWESOME!
