I watched a BBC special called Synth Brittania. The link is to part 1/9, however the ninth part didn't work. If you get that far, there is a subset subtitled in spanish, and if you watch the last half of 9/10 and 10/10 you get the whole show. It talks about bands from the 70s on who discovered synthesizers and electronic music such as The Human

Also, if you're interested, there's a movie about the instrument, known as the Theremin titled, "Theremin: An Electronic Odyssey" (1994). I don't know if that's the syth music you're thinking, but...well...I've got to contribute!
