I am looking for a site or ideas of some comforting quotes/thoughts to send a friend who is in the last stage of life. any ideas?

I'm sorry about your friend. If I was at home right now I could dig out the booklet we got from Hospice when my Mom was sick. It had a lot of comforting things in it.
