((OOC: Tigre's profile))

Mar 17, 2008 15:32

[NAME:] Furio Tigre (a.k.a. The Tiger)

[AGE:] 42 in the game, so likely 43 by now

[GENDER:] Male. Very much male.

[STATUS:] Single and in prison.

[SEXUALITY:] Straight.

[FRIENDS:] Money is his best friend. He's also quite fond of himself. Why depend on anyone else for anything?

[ENEMIES:]
Viola Cadaverini: The cause of his downfall. Had she not nearly run him over that fateful night, he'd still be in his office, grinning down on another loser down on his financial luck. He thinks she's stupid, hates her creepy demeanor and doesn't respect her at all, but whenever she appears, his personality does a complete 180 and he turns into a weak little suck-up walking on eggshells around her. It's not because he fears her -- he fears what she represents. She is the precious granddaughter of Bruto Cadaverini, the man who runs a notoriously powerful and brutal underground mafia group. Hurting her in any way would instantly mark him as a dead man. Well, he hurt her (physically and emotionally), and he is marked.

Despite being imprisoned (and thus, protected from the Cadaverinis), he would still continue treating Viola as sweetly as possible. In fact, he is desperate to get on her good side again, for two reasons:
1. He is quite confident he will find himself back on the streets soon, but he can't let this happen while she still hates him. As mentioned above, he is marked, and he's deathly afraid of what Bruto Cadaverini may have in mind for him.
2. He believes if he can get Viola to love him again, she can get her grandfather to use his influence to have him released from prison early. This might be difficult to achieve, but Tigre clings to the 1% possibility of this happening.

The Cadaverini Family: His biggest nightmare, for reasons explained above.

Phoenix Wright, a.k.a. "Spikey": The other cause of his downfall. Phoenix was who put him in jail, and there are all sorts of things he'd like to do to him. Tigre is happy to hear that Phoenix is no longer an attorney, but he won't rest until he's gotten the chance to throttle him.

Godot/Diego, a.k.a. "mask boy": Yet another cause of his downfall! Even though it was Tigre's own slip-up that made him lose the case, he still carries a grudge against Diego. And something about Diego's mannerisms really grates his nerves -- likely the way he remains cool, calm and confidence even while faced with a roaring tiger. Tigre is not used to his, and he would simply LOVE to see Diego squirm.

[OCCUPATION:] He used to be a loan shark and ran his own business, Tender Lender. Now he's a prisoner sentenced to jail for murder.

[HOBBIES:] Gambling, and he's good at it, too (he's certainly better than Glen Elg ever was). He greatly prefers gambling that requires strategy (poker, blackjack, etc.) to something that rides entirely on luck (horse races, the lottery). He has toyed with the idea of opening his own casino someday.

He works out a lot, as one can tell just by looking at him. All the weight training he does gives him an impressive physique, making him extra intimidating, so exercise is very important to him.

Last but not least, before the September accident, he enjoyed riding a magenta scooter. He had confiscated it from a hapless businessman who couldn't pay back the money he loaned on time. Tigre went to the man's home and, after a little chat, took away the first expensive thing he saw: a scooter belonging to the man's spoiled teenaged daughter. (It appealed to him right away because of the colour, which is one of his favourites.)

[LIKES:] Money, money, money. Money is what makes the world go 'round. It's what's made him The Tiger for years upon years, and all the cash various people owed him was what gave him control over some businesses...but money doesn't mean much in jail, and thus he feels emasculated. At least he got to keep his beloved suit and his beloved rug he uses to make his cell floor more cushy.

He also likes the smell of fear and having power over others, which he can still get in prison from many (but not all).

[DISLIKES:] Tigre won't stand for anything he feels is an insult towards him, and he's quite touchy. He demands respect, and when he can't get it, he snaps. He hates people who can't keep their word or wastes even a second of his precious time.

[STRENGTHS:] Threatening people. He's loud, aggressive, and intimidating, and can make people cower with his growls and roars. He's good at making others fear him, and loves to bully people into submission. And in terms of physical strength, he is just as tough as he looks.

[WEAKNESSES:] The Cadaverinis. They scare him more than anything else at the moment. They are capable of anything, and they aren't too happy with him. Bruto Cadaverini WILL remember what he's done to Viola, and this fact is the cause of all of Tigre's nightmares.

[APPEARANCE:] Looks like a hulking, evil, demonic gangster version of Phoenix. His hair is spikey and pulled back just like Phoenix's. His favourite outfit is an authentic (and expensive) vintage 90's yakuza suit imported from Japan that has large print of a tiger chomping down on an asian dragon on the front. He is well-tanned and his skin has a reddish tint to it, making him appear angry all the time (and he usually is, too). A scar over his left eye and sharp fangs add to the whole demonic effect. As mentioned before, he's well-built, and stands 185 cm tall (the same as Gant and Will Powers, so he's quite large). Last but not least, he likes chunky gangsta jewelry and is never seen without a gold chain around his neck.

Basically, he's made himself up to look as scary as possible, and he's done a good job of it.

[PERSONALITY:] Loud. Very loud. Like some mad beast, he literally roars and growls when displeased, and it is very easy to displease him. He's a macho gangster boss-type through and through. To him, nearly everyone is puny and worthless, and he's not subtle about letting his feelings about this be known, too. He doesn't have a single bit of tact, mercy, or respect for anyone he considers his inferior (and that's many people).

When his life is on his line, however, he becomes as harmless as a kitten. His difference in behaviour towards Viola (and any member of the Cadaverinis) is pathetically obvious. He becomes a submissive, shameless suck-up with a big, nervous forced smile.

Although few are aware of it, Tigre's bark is worse than his bite. He could easily "flatten" someone, as he often threatens to do, but he prefers to make other people do the dirty work for him. Not because he's not capable of getting things done himself, but because he loves that feeling of having control over others. And although he roars and shows off his fangs and throws around scary threats, he's not a murderer. Why kill people who owe him money? It's much more fun to keep them alive to make them tremble and milk from them everything they've got! The murder of Glen Elg was an act of desperation -- if Glen wasn't killed, HE would've been killed. It was a special case and he felt he had no choice.

Like Phoenix pointed out, he is more careful than he looks. This is evident from the fake trial stunt he pulled to ensure Maggey took the blame for Glen's death, and the way he continues sucking up to Viola. He may be hot-headed and short-tempered, but he will still think of the consequences before acting on anything. He didn't work his way up to the top by being careless and rash (but he's not perfect; occasionally he will slip up, like he did in his trial).

Tigre actually hadn't had to use his hands to settle matters for a long time, because his roaring had been more than enough to get people to listen and submit. But after being put into prison, the confinement only worsened his temper, and he's caused a lot of trouble so far for the guards and other prisoners. He's been sent to the solitary on many occasions. Now he's been transferred to the prison that holds people like Gant and Diego, and he may have to learn the hard way that they aren't going to fold so easily.

[BACKGROUND:] Much about Tigre's past is unknown, because he doesn't like to talk about it. The past is unimportant to him and he considers it a waste of time to dwell on it (EXCEPT when it comes to grudges). He's more concerned about the present and the long term. Perhaps he's sick of all the sob stories told by people who've owed him money. The only things known are that he's from Brooklyn, he's ALWAYS been a bully, and he's got a frightening mother in New York he's terrified of and is the reason why he moved all the way to LA...not that he'd ever admit that.

Things were going fine for Tigre and his business until one September night, when he was cruising on his scooter and got hit by a car being driven by Viola. He survived without barely a scratch, but she suffered some serious head injuries. The surgery wasn't all that difficult nor expensive, but Bruto Cadaverini demanded that he pay a million dollars to cover the medical bills and a generous amount of "compensation." To add to his dismay, Viola began to hang around him, under the belief that he offered to pay for her surgery because he honestly cared for her, not because he was forced to. He treated her as well as he possibly could, fearing her grandfather's wrath.

To get the million he owed the Cadaverinis by the end of the year, Tigre hounded two people who borrowed money from him: Jean Armstrong and Glen Elg. To pay back his debt with Tigre, Glen made a special computer virus that could be sold on the black market for a very large amount of money. Just when he was about to hand it over to Tigre when they met at Armstrong's restaurant, he won $500,000 from a lottery. With this, he no longer needed to give up the disc containing the virus to Tigre.

Tigre desperately needed that disc, so he killed Glen by putting poison in his coffee and swiped it. The waitress Maggey Byrde witnessed Glen's death and fainted. Being a careful guy, Tigre decided to frame Maggey by slipping the lottery ticket in her apron (she needed a motive). He then got Viola to pose as Maggey putting poison in the coffee and recreated the scene without himself in the picture to show Victor Kudo (he needed a witness to "Maggey"'s murder). To make double sure Maggey would take the blame, he even posed as Phoenix and sloppily defended her at court. He then sold the virus created by Glen and was able to pay off his debt.

As always, Phoenix was able to uncover the truth at court. Tigre nearly got away with murder, but was tricked by Phoenix into indirectly admitting his guilt.

[Special note:] Now, I ain't never played this game in English, but I've watched all'a them clips on de YouTube so I know he's got dis toughguy Brooklyn accent. And for some crazy reason, it gets real thick sometimes, like he'll be sayin' "dis" instead'a "this" and "dat" instead'a "that," see? Real inconsistant. What'sa matta wid him, huh? I ain't got no clue if it gets thicker the tougher he wants to sound, or what! What'dayouse dink? If youse got some idea, youse let me know, 'cause it ain't no easy task changin' the thickness of de accent all de frickin' time.
