Spare a moment for the people of Pakistan...

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a restful Boxing Day (for those that celebrate it!!)
Our family went out to a rainforest region about an hours drive from our home, and had a relaxing day at waterfalls and picnic spots with some family friends - I had some good laughs with my cousin and some friends, so that was nice. :)

I don't think I know enough to comment any which way, really - Bhutto and Musharraf have both done terrible things in their time in office. But I feel for the people of Pakistan - they've been tearing themselves apart in the 60-odd years they've been an "independent" nation, and things just aren't getting any better.

I respect that opinion - it's so rare in the modern political climate. And you're right - any sort of political change has to be instituted by the native people themselves, otherwise it's just interference and arrogance. The problem is that no country can fix themselves independently anymore - other countries, such as the US, have had a big hand in causing this sort of stuff for their own economic/political gain. It just makes me so cynical, you know?
This kind of chaos is good for business for some people.
