Under a cut because I ramble on about lots of things. Mild spoilers for the movie, obviously. Though technically the story has been out for decades. :)
This is more rambly than my usual meta because it's been written over several days - and now that I've become quite involved in the fandom, I've had a chance to think about and discuss a few things

I havent read your thoughts on the movie because I haven't seen it yet nor read the book.

It's a fun film to watch - make sure you do before it goes out of the cinemas! :)

I definitely want to see it but then there is the whole 'Don't have time to scratch myself anymore aspect'that has prevented me thus far.
It's definitely good to see you again though *hugs*

I spend so much time on my laptop that LJ is just a click away, but you spend most of your time outdoors - with horses, am I right?
If you can see it in the cinemas, do so. The sound and the action is very exciting - a good way to relax for a few hours before you go to work or something.
Make sure you take a break in some form or another!!!! Otherwise you'll burn out and all your work will have been for nothing...

Glad you enjoyed the film! I know it got mixed reviews from a lot of people, but their complaint was mostly of the "The kids were second to Caspian the whole time" variety. Clearly they haven't read the books. ;)

LOL. Where have YOU been, Kim? xD
Ah, I've been here - floating, mostly. There's nothing to saay, I guess...
*floats in her bubble of depression and apathy*
It wasn't a perfect film, but I enjoyed it very much, and I'll definitely be D/Lingbuying the DVD. :)
If only for the fact it's so visually appealing I can just shut my mind off and enjoy.
LOL - just looking at the title should say who's the main part of the book, right? I thought it was a fairly good balance, myself - though I would have liked to see more of Susan and Ed, in particular.

As much as I love Narnia, I can acknowledge there are some problems in the plot in terms of themes and action. They get rather more glossed over in the book but in the movie they were almost highlighted by changes in characterisation and scripting.
Narnia (well, the films, at least) has an incredible fantasy world that manages to mostly blind you to the film's faults. Mostly. It's a children's story - some problems are to be expected, right? I just like taking an analytical look at the story because, despite what SOME people may say (see narnia_secret), I'm not just a convert to the fandom because of the boys. The story has it's merits too. :P
Though perhaps that's part of the reason why Aslan is so important, because (at least initially) he helped them rule? It does seem odd that Peter, with the experience he'd had in Narnia, didn't make a more conservative decision about invading the castle? But then again, wasn't most/all of their rule peaceful? You ( ... )

You know, it's one of those movies that you either hate it or love?
SKANDAR WAS AH-MAZING! I can't believe that they didn't give him any more screentime (they HAVE to be able to see his potential as a made-of-amazingness actor), but alas, they filled it up with Peter v. Caspian cat-fights (which were entertaining nonetheless).

I think I'm actually "getting younger" instead of getting more mature/older - because when I was little LWW and the whole Narnia series in general didn't appeal to me in the same way that it does know. IDK, I'm weird. xD
Skandar was absolutely FANTASTIC. He was great in LWW, now that I think about it - he probably had the most challenging role in that film, and he pulled it off really admirably. LOL! I think he sort of got lost in all the HYPE that is Peter and Caspian, but I'm really hoping that they give him what he deserves in VODT. *fingers crossed*
The Peter vs. Caspian cat-fights were fantastic. All the yelling and sword pulling. I was hoping for a full out screaming match, but oh well. ;)
Thanks so much for commenting!
