Was I the only sad person at home on a Friday night to watch The 7pm Project? (gracias to yourmanuscript for the heads up!) For the non-Aussies, it's a news-variety program on Channel Ten, a mix of comedy and entertainment and serious news discussion.

They had a segment on Merlin, where the correspondent went onto the set of Season 3 and interviewed Colin! They ( Read more... )

They called him "Colin James" (someone wasn't paying much attention, were they?)
What?! That's just slack, seriously. But yay for Merlin being on Aussie TV.

Ooh, the news about the new season sounds super intriguing! I wonder if the year jump might mean Arthur becoming king during this series?

Merlin in a bar room brawl say what now? Wonder what someone says to him to cause a...I guess it would be a tavern brawl?

:D I'm guessing they are probably trying to drum up support for the show - it was really, really popular during Season 1, but I think they waited too long to screen Season 2 and ratings have come down quite a bit. Not to mention very little publicity either :(

Mmm, doubt it. I have a feeling they may end with Arthur's coronation, because they are very much trying to push the "before the legend" theme in their storytelling. Not to mention the fact he still has to find out about Merlin's magic, his mother's death, and Morgana's turn to eviiiil.

Haha, yeah, a tavern brawl! I have no idea what the scene was about, but it looked fun! I'm pretty sure it's on YouTube now, if you want to go have a look - about a 2min clip?

I KNOW RIIIIIIGHT. :D

I guess they really just want to shake everything up in terms of the storyline, and get rid of the months of reconstruction etc etc that would have ensued after the Season 2 finale.

that is exciting! Merlin is special that way to me - I've been watching and been in the fandom since it's humble beginnings. :)

Oh wow, I didn't know that about S3! Verrah, verrah interesting. One of my complaints about previous seasons was the glacial pace of the storyline's forward movement (I think I described the series as treading water until the last few episodes), so maybe this will help!

That's what I thought too. Some people aren't nearly as optimistic, but at the very least it should shake things up!
