Now I don't know much bout this illness.. but I know that people can live happy normal lives with it... The woman is NOT dying... and Sean has Crones.. again another illness that people can live happy normal lives with

ummmm that question makes me angry...i would never ever, unless...i have an unplanned pregnancy and decide to give the child up for adoption at BIRTH...give away my 8 year old child...even if i had some sort of disease...even it it were a terminal illness...and upon my death bed, i would make sure my child had a decent home...nor would i give up my child for a man...what the fuck is a man...? compared to your own child...

So last night I was watching Dangerous Minds. The episode was about a couple who was on death row after having been convicted of killing some young girls. Through the episode it came out that the girl was innocent... the main reason she was convicted was she confessed to killing their child (who was 2 at the time). But she didn't kill him, she gave him to a family she knew

it's kinda relavent... but at the same time.. do you not think that it would be better for the child to be with it's birth mother if she is physically, finacially and mentally able to take care of him.. instead of takin the easy way out and givin him away.. I mean 8 is old enough to understand kinda what's goin on..

We are lookin at from the childs point.. I personally think it's a shitty deal for the kid to KNOW that his mom gave him up.. I don't know the whole situation makes me sick.. I mean ya for me it would be easier for me to give my daughter away.. but I couldn't live with myself if I did that.. I don't know.. it's weird :P

Well, I don't know if I mentioned it but in the show the child was 2 at the time. So it's a little different, obviously. Yeah, 8 you're already aware and it would be very, very difficult. I don't know exactly the details, but the idea in general is tough for me.

But it doesn't sound like she's saying "I hate you, I want nothing to do with you" to the kid or anything like that. She'd still be involved in the child's life, she'd still be there... eh.

I'm mostly playing devil's advocate here, as I said, I don't know the situation and it's not something I would ever be able to do.

And thanks ;) Not really sure, I think we're focused mostly on getting Jes through school at the moment, then at making sure we both have jobs and can afford to make a home. When we're stable ourselves we can start looking at bringing someone else into the world. We have some time yet. I think the idea at the moment is to wait 5ish years for all of that to get in place. We don't want to wait too long, but yeah. We'll see as we go ;)

Wow I am not sure what to think about that. Giving your child away? And he's 8. That's kinda strange. She must have a reason but to give away your child is kinda drastic. I couldn't even fathom giving away my own child.
