I can't get the link to inbed properly, but never mind.

This morning, I tried on the green patterned dress & tunic on the website, plus a pair of black leggings that I can't seem to find online. In a 14, which is my size. All of them fitted, but each piece was unflattering & made me ( Read more... )

I'm really not keen on any of those things. It's not you that's at fault, it's Gok, with his unflattering prints and cuts!

I actually liked the pattern of the dress & the tunic & would have bought them for a wedding I'm going to (if I hadn't looked like a sack of potatoes in them that is) The leggings were so tight on my lower legs (which are normal sized) that I had to pull them off inside out. They were fine to wear, but I can't be bothered with faffing to get undressed each time I wear them. I think that also backs up my opinion that they are designed for size zero & just upscaled.

I saw those down at Sainsburys yesterday and wasn't impressed. It's not that pretty! I thought Gok's schtick was about making everyone feel fabulous! Having said that, it's interesting that the 14s and 16s were thin on the ground and the smaller sizes were in abundance. Elsewhere in Sainsbury's I saw a rather lovely purple dress with a white bird print which I quite liked the look of.

Have they sold all the 16s & most of the 14s though, or just not stocked them? New Look in town doesn't have many 16s out in the store, so you have to ask & I refuse to go up to the teenagers on the till & say in other words "Hello, I'm podgy & old enough to be your mum & can you see if there are any huge clothes in the back to fit me, please?" The trendy boutique in town doesn't even put them out at all, just keeps them in the back "to make the hangers look better" when I asked for my size.

Actually, the size 14 dress & tunic were both too big on my bust & after buying new bras, I have D cup boobs. I fail to see any use in a lipstick sized pocket. My coat & trouser pockets need to fit housekeys, doggie poo bags, hair bungees, tissues, mobile phone, purse (if not carrying a bag) & dog lead, when I let Barney off the lead.

I would love a pocket to put my lipbalm in. I don't always have pockets and I don't have a handbag, so at work if I'm out of the office I either have to take my rucksack or balance my phone and lippy on my notepad.

Not impressed with the clothes, though.
