about class today

A spokesperson for PETA came in today to talk to my class. I was really looking forward to the lecture as I had some questions that I needed answers to about what PETA thinks of sanctuaries and wildlife refuges and why none of their money goes to struggling sanctuaries (such as Tiger Creek). Well, he (Gary Yourofsky) spent the whole time talking ( Read more... )

Did you see my entry on this same presentation last year?

Did Steph give you the book to give to your teacher? I'm going to email her a note to put with the book to explain why I'm showing it to him. (I'll let him borrow it as long as he wants, but I would appreciate to have my copy back at some point, and if he likes it he should support the author by buying his own.)

I just read your post and dammit I wish I would have thought about that stuff in class. Did Gary or Kate send you a response??

Yes, Steph did give me the book and Gary even mentioned it specifically in class. I saw Dr. Boyles writing stuff down when Gary mentioned the title, so he might go get it for himself, but I'll still take it in.

(The good news is I've since found out that Chipotle can be vegan.)

Yes, I believe Kate did send me a response. I don't know where it is now, although I doubt I would've deleted it. It might be on Steph's computer, actually. Maybe I'll look for it sometime. Basically all I remember was she compared me to George McFly for wanting to avoid confrontation.

I just emailed Steph a note for you to take with the book. It ended up being about a page and a half long, single-spaced. But that's okay. It's also a good summary of the book's main points. Feel free to read the note, of course. Steph too.

that apple-rabbit-crib thing is originally:

"You put a baby in a crib with an apple and a rabbit. If it eats the rabbit and plays with the apple, I'll buy you a new car." -Harvey Diamond
