It got paid by my insurance company. Apparently it was one of those things where the hospital bills you AND bills insurance, just to make sure somebody pays

Oh sure, multiple times. But stuff still, very rarely, gets through. (HIV estimates are 1/1,000,000 per unit of blood; Hep B is 1/65,000. So my odds are double that, for two units.) The fun part is that HIV transmits through breastmilk.
