I have to agree. Certainly, there have been moments when Clark and Lex behaved as friends but when we find out that Lex has indeed been continuing his investigation of Clark and his family despite saying he would no longer do so, that element of trust and closeness just wasn't there like we thought it was. Clark claimed he was giving Lex another chance but really, it was more that, as he said himself, it was his senior year and he just didn't want to deal with it. Basically, Clark deluded himself, told himself everything was okay with Lex although he did keep his eye on him but really, the "friendship" was completely superficial in the last year and it was never really shown as being as deep as it could have been.
We were cheated out of this epic friendship and given one that was never that close for the most part. Too bad but that's AlMiles for you.
