Learning about litterboxes

In the normal process of kittens growing up, they're supposed to learning about litterboxes. Usually their mother teaches them this. Since Howl doesn't have a cat mother, his human mother (moi) has to do it. Unfortunately, I don't seem to be succeeding. Yesterday he hid under a bookcase and peed there. hmm, maybe kittens work like two year olds in that you can give them a treat when they are good little girls and boys.

The problem is that he isn't old enough for that trick yet. All he wants is his bottle. That doesn't work as a treat because it's normally what he gets after or before going potty. Maybe when he's a bit older I could try that if he hasn't gotten the idea.
