Simmonds is not a great school, but Boston would be fun, but this is a MUCH better choice. The cost of living should be pretty good, too, which is nice because I've often found that "gay-friendly places to live" often go hand in hand with "ridiculously expensive places to live." Seattle? Atlanta? San Diego? San Francisco? Boston? Springfield, MA? Vermont? Yeah, they can all be pricey!
And I am sorry to ask this, but what is your field, again? I mean I know it's history, but what time period. U of I is a good history school, too, is it not? It sure is for lit.

It was more of the thought of living in Boston that made me decide to apply to Simmons originally, but then I thought that it would be too big of a move for me. But Indiana has always been my 1# choice. :-)
Yeah, you're right about "gay-friendly" cities being pricey. I actually did some research earlier today for avaliable apartments in Bloomington and found that most of them are very reasonably priced. :-D I'm quite happy about considering how poor I am at the moment...
Oh, my major in undergrad has been history (mostly European history), but I'm going to be studying Library Science in grad school. I was told that IU has a very excellent Library and Information Graduate Program. ^_^
