I've noticed something interesting. Since the remodeling project in the house started, my family has kind if drifted apart. The kitchen was always a gathering place, sort of a default location. The lunch special today was Tanzanian Beef Stew with coconut rice and a corn and bean mixture for vegetables. It had some curry and a little garam masala, but I wasn't overly thrilled with it.
