That's funny...I have a theory that kids don't notice the cold as much as adults do or at least they don't remember it as part of an experience. I don't recall being cold at all in Hawaii (although I do remember the near-endless rainfall). My only memory of being cold when I was little was one day at Monroe Elementary when I'd worn a dress to school and it suddenly had become unseasonably windy and cold and we were all outside shivering and waiting for recess to be over. I had squatted down and covered my legs with my dress so I was just a gingham lump with tangled red hair. The playground monitor thought this was hilarious and started laughing SO hard. I must have looked pretty silly
