It's good to hear your thought process and your plans starting to form for the future. Just keep on putting one foot in front of the other.
Any plans for travel this summer and beyond?

Beyond the China trip in July, I don't think I'll have much time/funds to travel. In fact, the only downside to this plan is that going to school for a year is pretty much gonna drain my JET savings. >_

Mel,
What a good idea to look at helping others go through what you went through. You've learned so much about adjusting to Japan and I think you'd do an awesome job. Your plan to take the JLPT sounds reasonable. Did you get a chance to find out if there are any job openings at any of the university or colleges yet? AND MOST IMPORTANTLY when will you be home to visit? Love, Linda

I haven't looked at job openings yet 'cause a) I'm not yet qualified, and b) anything that's open now probably won't be open a year from now. Come next year, I'll ideally be showing up at select conferences and things, start networking for employment.

I'll be home for about a month after I finish up with JET in August. Gotta claim my pension, change my visa, etc. Gonna be a busy summer!
