Paid my tuition for the Intensive Japanese Language Program today! 7,000 bucks later, I'm ELATED to be financially committed to moving to Kyoto. Wooo!

In related news, I have tracked down a lead on an apartment. It's a guest house that's only a 15 or so minute bike ride from the school. Shared kitchen, bathroom, laundry, and living room facilities, ( Read more... )

I remember a time when a round-trip ticket was actually cheaper than a one-way fare. So when I moved from one city to another, instead of a one-way fare (which was all I needed) I bought a round-trip.

That's the point--round-trip is STILL cheaper! By almost half the price!

I'm not sure you understand. Round-trip was cheaper by *more* than half the proce.

I'm not saying round-trip was cheaper than two one-way fares (there and back). I'm saying round-trip was cheaper than just one one-way fare!

I've never seen that happen again. On the same airline, even.

...That's what I'm saying. One full round-trip fare from Narita to Tampa and back is about $1700. A single one-way fare (just from Narita to Tampa) is around $2500-3000, with the same airline or not.
