The password thing is something with their new security, they want people to change their passwords every few months or something. I got an email to change mine because I've probably had the same password since I started the journal.

I hate the new password thing. I'm glad you got it to work and got into your journal. I've had the same password since forever, but it hasn't prompted me to change it yet.

I think they notified people if their password didn't comply with their new rules.
And when you didn't change it they changed it for you. Nice, eh?

Yes, they did that to me too. I was able to jump through the hoops and change it to my own password but I know people who have lost their old accounts because they no longer used the email associated with the old account so couldn't get the password thing straightened out.

Yes, the emails are really from LJ, folks...not spam!
