Title: Falling
Rating: PG
Fandom/Pairing: Football RPS, Cristiano Ronaldo/Kaká
Summary: We fall in different ways until the end.
☆ Every word is a lie.
★ First fic of 2011, happy new year lovelies! Random AU is random (since I can't deal with reality) where everything is abstract and the characters' lives are undefined since it's not important. Relationship study like woah. Bit of religion thrown in for extra fun like always. It's short though. And un-betaed. Woo, go me! Also, congrats to Kaká for the successful comeback! Unfortunately, I don't have a Kaká icon. My face is sad.

Love.
Ricardo had always thought real love was between a man and a woman. Fall in love, get married, start a family, the whole shebang. At least for him. That was what was expected of him. What God intended for his life to look like. So he waited for the right girl to come along. Except God worked in mysterious ways and loved a practical joke, so Ricky meets Cris instead. And his life changes forever.
Cris just hadn't found love before. This powerful feeling everyone is talking about that's dangerous in the way that it's bipolar of the highest degree - so wonderful and yet so painful at the same time. He couldn't understand the 'you'll know when you're in love'. He found pleasure in one night stands and comfort and love in friends.
So when they meet for the first time it's not really smooth sailing. But it sure is interesting. And somehow, sparkling. They've got chemistry in surprisingly large amounts. And so they fall in love.

It's easy to talk to Cris. When it comes to easy matters. When it's serious - when it really matters - it is not. He wants life simple, care-free and easy-going, so he ignores the harder things in life, avoids the complicated. Ricardo's not sure of how much he likes that but it's refreshing. He's never known a person like that so deeply, he always dismissed them as lazy. But Cris is anything but, he's still hard-working despite his laid-back nature. So Ricardo goes along with it. Maybe he can learn to not take life so seriously.
It's the easiest when they don't need words at all. It's when it's easiest to believe in them and that it will work out. That it won't crash and burn like everyone else.
It's easiest between the sheets. In tune - hands on hips, lips on flesh and skin against skin - they truly don't need words. They fall into each other. Cris likes to be vocal anyway. Unashamed nonsense about it's never been so good and God, is it so good. Ricardo wants to keep God out of this. For the first time, something is too intimate to be shared with the big man upstairs. So he kisses Cris to keep his mouth shut. Cristiano somehow understands his message and keeps god out of this when his lips are free once again.

It's ridiculous really. He doesn't remember when they started to get at each other anymore. He doesn't even remember why they started to get at each other anymore. A new day? A new fight. It's trivial matters. But it always leads to a snarky, half-sarcastic squabble. And Ricardo doesn't like to fight. Cris doesn't either but they can't help it because it's a build-up and they don't know they're down that road until they've reached Push-and-scream-at-each-other-town.
So they always make up but it's back to their old ways before the dust has settled from the last round. It's tiring to say the least. They have a fall out of the worst kind where they can't make up one more time so they to break up. It's not working, walking around in circles, never getting anywhere.
They just flew out the window and crash-landed on the street.
down
Just like the arguments, Ricardo doesn't see where he's headed until he reaches rock bottom. Cris is gone. Just like that. Ricardo supposes that it got too hard. After all, it's not Cris's style, he doesn't do complicated. So he up and left. And now Ricky just wants him to come back so he can kick him in the butt and put this behind them. He knows it's not possible so he sulks, throws a fit like a five-year-old, doesn't sleep for days and walks around like a brain dead zombie. He questions God. Why did he let Ricky feel so high and good if it was only to let him fall down to the bottom? All his life God has been there to take care of him, so why isn't he there right now when he needs him the most? He just doesn't understand. So he prays. For Cris to come back. For him to not be so miserable. For learning his mistakes and not repeat them. For him changing for the better. For anything. Just so that Cris can come back.
Despite feeling like shit, he won't resort to alcohol though, he promised himself that a long time ago. He promised God. And even if God and him aren't on the best of terms right now, he intends on keeping that promise. He always was a man of his word.
And with God he slowly crawls out of the hole of misery he's dug himself into and starts over. Without Cris. He's accepting that fact. Nothing lasts forever. It hurts but it has to be done. Otherwise he'll just lie there and waste away.

Love.
Cris loves him. But he's not in love with him. Not anymore.
And Ricardo's okay with that. Because he's also fallen out of love.
