Do not eat any food that smells like dog shit. I passed up some soup a week ago that both smelled and tasted like wet dog, and there was no editing that, either. Bad menu choice.

It was presented harmlessly as chicken tortilla soup, but there was no spicing, and somehow the combination of what sounded like good ingredients produced wet dog. I gave it two tries, added lime juice and tried again, and then had to progressively push it farther and farther away every few minutes until it was out of smelling range.

And it wasn't a "bad batch." It was just an unfortunate choice on my part of a menu item that other people apparently enjoy. :O

That sounds horrible. Living in Mexico in recent years (before I came back to the north side of the border) I had tortilla soup a few times, and it was usually very good. Sorry to hear you experienced such a negative brew.
