I love the fact that your three parents were (and one still is a) Grammar Fascists. I would have loved to grow up with grammar fascists. My maternal grandmother was fussy about slang. It wasn't allowed. BBC accents were preferred, and consonants were always to be pronounced distinctly. LOL!

Now, the most important question. Are you a grammar fascist?

I am like Jimmy Carter. I lust in my heart. I am, yes, a grammar fascist. But most of the time I keep my tongue still, and listen. People do talk, and speak, different. Differently.

I really liked the way this came together.
Apparently people who swear a lot are highly intelligent, so your step-dad must have been very clever as well as pedantic (one of my people :P).
