White Chocolate Bread Pudding istemi October 24 2008, 18:27:22 UTC
If it's coming down to the wire, and you're willing to step away from vanilla, white chocolate bread pudding is one of my trusty recipes for social functions. Easy, and very rich. It packs the high calorie metabolic sucker punch that makes everyone coo over what a fabulous cook you are. Like shooting fish in a barrel.

You could swap out the white chocolate sauce with dark chocolate or something else for more interesting visuals. You could probably even do vanilla-infused cream.

After a little thought, I wouldn't do vanilla infused cream. The pudding is so white-chocolate-sweet-tongue-coating, it would be better to have a contrasting flavor. Go with semisweet or dark chocolate, for visual contrast and a little bitterness.

The bread pudding isn't very attractive looking by itself. If you're serving it yourself, drizzle the sauce over each individual piece. If not, go Jackson Pollock on top of the whole thing, and leave a gravy boat of sauce on the side for people to decorate their own.
