O.o; weird.

Ergh, here it costs like $80 just for an exam. And then the basic package with cheapy $9 frames and plain lenses is about $40 I think, but I need transitions so they ended up being like $150. x_x;

In alaska its $100 for the exam from stores but if you go to a private Dr. $175 for just the damn exam.

Its not the frames that are expensive (well some can be if you go for designer frames) it's the lenses that are expensive. When I worked st sears optical the cheapest they had were $99 for crappy frames and plastic lenses. The problem is that if you have a high prescription then you would have very thick lenses. Transitions were $275 and never included in any sales price.

For some reason, the DR said I need high index lenses - that just refers to the type of material the lenses are made of. Generally high index lenses are for people with a high prescription because the lenses are much thinner and lighter then plastic but it's also much more expensive. And my prescription isn't THAT high yet.
