I'm noticing a trend in 'modern' poetry these days, but it's refreshing compared to the continual Dr.Seussian kind that people tend to 'say' is "oh-so-fabulous," - poo I say. Give me whimsical, emotional, with a colourful picture without Sam I am or keep it in your closet.
You should try haiku, those are fun, quick, and easy.
