I am of the same; when a series has a small fan community, I am in love, but as people gravitate towards it (especially the more annoying "OMGKEWLESTTHINGEVAH!" fans), my devotion to the series lessens. Which is why I have my fingers crossed that a few series on my current obsession list remain mine. XDD;
