well, that's it for the rockies. it was a pretty exciting game, though, even if they didn't win.

i'm glad that, even though they were swept by the sox, that they kept fighting. i'm proud of them that they got better as the series went on, and closer every game. it's not always about winning, and it's so great that they even got to the series! ( Read more... )

I was so proud when the Rockies won the playoffs after having only come close once before in their fourteen years of existence... *smile*

Helton and Matsui are damn fine players, and I'll always remember those two along with Dante Bichette, Andres Galarraga, Vini Castilla, Neifi Perez, and the mighty Larry Walker! Hardly household names, but it's kind of nice that they're not known because of huge paychecks or even bigger egos, you know? Hot damn, them are the "good old days" for me.............

Hockey?! Ummmm...? :)

galarraga is probably my all-time favorite player... yay, the big cat! a great player and an even greater man.

hockey is cool -- especially if you've ever played soccer (or the wonderful game of 'broomball'!!).

when i was a warehouse guy at sears a long time ago, we used to play warehouse hockey... we'd make a ball out of cardboard and tape (or even use a new roll of tape itself as a puck) and then sticks from heavy cardboard or even pieces of broken shipping pallets. what a way to spend an entire sunday when NOBODY ever shopped and weekend managers wouldn't step foot in the warehouse!

okay, imagine that exact situation, but on an ice rink (but wearing tennies) -- and you've got broomball :)
