Last night I babysat Gavin (now 6) and Kelsey (3) and the following conversations occured:
While coloring:
Gavin: Now Emily, you see this blue? This is cerulean blue. It's a very nice shade, especially with marigold.
While eating:
Gavin: So, Emily, when are you gonna get married?
Me: Haha, what?!?
Gavin: I mean, you're getting pretty old, aren't you?
Me: Um, I don't think I'll get married for another.. hm.. ten or fifteen years.
Kelsey: Are you going to marry your sister?
Me: Nah, probably a really nice boy that I'll meet somewhere neat.
Kelsey: I'm going to marry Gavin!
Gavin: NO YOU'RE NOT! I'm going to marry a girl I meet somewhere.
Me: When do you think you want to get married Gavin?
Gavin: Oh, I'll definitely wait until I'm out of high school. I graduate in 2018.
Me: That sounds like a good plan. I bet you'll meet a nice girl in college that you can date and travel with when you get out of college and then maybe marry.
Gavin: Yes, I think that's what I'll do.
Kelsey: I'm going to marry Gavvvin!!!
Gavin: No you're not!
Kelsey: But you're the only one I want to marry!!
While getting out a board game:
Kelsey: Emily, do you want to play the princess game you bought me?
Me: Sure!
Kelsey: Will you let me win?
Me: No... we'll play fair!
Kelsey: Nevermind. Let's color.
