Yes. Tonsillitis usually spreads from person to person by contact with the throat or nasal fluids of someone who is already infected. "
So the tonsilitis would only exchange with fluids also. Plus, as it turns out, my dad only assumed I had strep throat because of what he read online, it really isn't that likely that I do. So it's quite a possibility that you already do have options. ::crosses fingers and hopes::
